About The Better Business Partnership

The Better Business Partnership is a regional program funded by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust and, Ku-ring-gai, North Sydney and  Willoughby Councils (“the Councils”) aimed at assisting small to medium businesses in the Councils’ areas to reduce energy and water consumption and waste.

The program has also been provided with funds from Sydney Water’s Every Drop Counts Business Program.

The Councils invited proposals from suppliers of sustainable energy and water products and services to achieve more proficient supply and installation of such products and services for small to medium businesses and to provide financial assistance to a business by means such as bringing about reduced capital costs, obtaining green loans and rebates and securing direct funding from available sources.

The Program

As a result of the process, the Councils entered an agreement with Vertigy Pty Limited (“Vertigy”) for the provision of sustainable energy and water products and services at stipulated prices; tailored energy assessments in accordance with the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water’s assessment process; action plans; project management; sourcing of products; installation of technologies; and assistance in applying for available environmental rebates for a business who may choose to implement recommended actions.

Participation in The Better Business Partnership is available to small and medium sized businesses in the Councils’ respective local government areas.

Registered businesses will receive onsite sustainability overviews from program project officers; if recommended by project officers, energy assessment and energy action plans followed by support for implementation of the recommended actions; and assistance in accessing available rebates and financial assistance.

The pilot program will operate from April to July 2010 with the formal project to begin in August 2010.

Disclosures, Conditions and Exclusions

The Councils recommend Vertigy as a supplier they believe is capable of providing the available products and services in a competent and professional manner but make no warranty as to the performance of Vertigy in any situation.
